Astronomy Textbook for students

The school reform being implemented provides for strengthening the ideological education of students, improving ideological work. A special role in this work is assigned to the most massive link of ideological workers — teaching. Therefore, the school reform is imbued with comprehensive concern for the training of qualified teaching staff, improving their professional skills, providing daily scientific and methodological assistance to teachers.

The astronomy course occupies an important place in the general system of formation of the Marxist-Leninist worldview among the younger generation. As you know, astronomy in high school is usually taught by physics and mathematics teachers. In most pedagogical institutes that train physics teachers, only 120 hours are allocated for the study of astronomy, and even less is provided for the astronomical training of future mathematics teachers — 90 hours. This is clearly not enough. Therefore, from the whole huge complex of achievements of modern astronomy, it is necessary to select especially carefully those information that is primarily necessary to develop students' dialectical-materialistic views on nature and to prepare them for the upcoming work at school.

Qualified training of an astronomy teacher is unthinkable without an appropriate textbook specially designed for pedagogical institutes. The textbook "Astronomy" by P. I. Popov was last published in 1967. Naturally, it does not even mention pulsars, relic radiation and other discoveries of the last two decades. Therefore, we should welcome the publication of a new textbook — M. M. Dagaev, V. G. Demin, I. A. Klimishin, V. M. Charugin "Astronomy" (Moscow: Prosveshchenie, 1983), which contains the basic modern astronomical knowledge necessary for the preparation of an astronomy teacher.

The book consists of six sections covering all the main directions of astronomy, from the basics of astrometry to the problems of cosmology. The distribution of the material in each section corresponds to the modern development of science: 40% of the total content of the book is occupied by astrometry and celestial mechanics, and 60% by astrophysics and related sections. The textbook is written at a fairly high scientific level, it is characterized by a concise and mostly logical presentation. The amount of information is significant, the definitions of the main parts are quite clear, and the demonstration of the practical application of theoretical principles is clear. As online gambling continues to grow in popularity, so do the options for players. One of the most popular categories of games at online casinos are slots. Online slots games come in a variety of themes and styles, and offer the chance to win big with just a small bet. But slots aren't the only games available at online casinos. Many sites also offer classic table games like blackjack, roulette, and baccarat. These games offer a more traditional casino experience, with the added benefit of being able to play from home.
